I have just under three years experience, and two to three exams. I feel that I have learned a lot in the time I've worked in the field, but am wondering if there are opportunities to be more presentable at the analyst level. I am not advanced in terms of exam status, but am very presentable and have good technical and communication skills. Still, there doesn't seem like a lot of opportunities to gain more higher level experience. Does anyone know of companies where someone at a mid-analyst level would be able to make presentations, and think problematically, as opposed to what I've experienced where an ASA or FSA simply "programs" the analyst to complete models and spreadsheet analyses. It seems that we don't get to do much higher level stuff, and I think its partly because actuarial analysts have reputations as being somewhat introverted and complacent. As a result the industry is very "inside the box." Are any companies more dynamic in this regard?
