1) Probability of passing 2 without 1 is definitely there. But 3 requires calculus and probability concepts tested on 1 which you need to be comfortable with. 2) EA is required in the pension world to sign certain forms. ASA/FSA not required there. EA is useless in life/health. ASA requires more exams. 3) Next week (after Tuesday) go to www.soa.org and look for directory of actuarial memberships. Search for FSAs, ASAs and EAs in your desired area and note the companies or firms they work for. Check the Actuarial Training Program brochure at soa.org/eande for those companies. 4) Can't help you with study courses in Louisville. If no local universities offer them you may have to travel elsewhere.
