I recently passed my series 7, 66, life, variable life, and health exams. I opened a financial planning office in a rural community but the economy has made it nearly impossible to succeed. Therefore, I have decided to go back to my hometown in Louisville, KY and become an actuary. I have an MBA and an undergraduate in Actuarial Science. I hope to sit for at least one exam, possibly two, in November. What is the likelyhood of passing exam 2&3 without taking 1? What are the difference in becoming an ASA and an EA? I am looking to work for a small to medium sized consulting firm. Looking for suggestions on how to get my foot in the door and who I should contact? Also, I am having difficulty finding a cram/study course for the first two exams in Louisville....any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
